Aerial Imagery Contest
The Iowa River Greenbelt offers beautiful natural and economic opportunities.
Step 1: Fly!
Legally of course. We have guidelines to the flight criteria in these video submissions. In short, if you’re not a registered UAV pilot, you’re not eligible.
Video must be captured within Hardin County, Iowa.
Step 2: Edit
Submissions should be 2 minutes in length. One submission per category, 5 categories. No requirements of music or narrative, only the creative freedom from contestants.
Step 3: Submit
One video per submission form. We require a download link for your hi-resolution submission. We also have a spot in the entry form to link to your submission on your platform, with your business’ watermark for self-promotion.
Step 4: Win!
We will be narrowing the submissions down to top 3 videos in each category based on criteria such as color, transition, content, flight stability, and overall composition. Top 3 entries will be presented LIVE for our sponsors to vote and announce the winners!

This contest is open to the aerial imagery from ALL of Hardin County, IA, and open to pilots from across the Nation.

Iowa has some of the best soil in the world, and Hardin Counties Greenbelt is no exception! There is huge opportunity for growth in the industrial and agricultural sectors, and we’d like you to capture what makes this area special.
Water Sport
The Wisconsin Glacier melt carved some stunning terrain right here in central Iowa, and it is a water sport lovers paradise. Fishing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Tubing, Boating and more, capture activity among its people!
Land Sport
Between the existing trail systems within Pine Lake State Park and upcoming recreational trails in the works, Rugby in Iowa Falls, Hunting in the timberlands of the area, ATV and Equestrian trails, or Hiking. Capture that and so much more for land lovers to do and explore!
Nature / Scenic
The Wisconsin Glaciation carve this natural beauty into central Iowa like we were an elegant brushstroke on a canvas. Capture the Timber and beautiful bluffs, the wide open fields, lakes and creeks and everything in between.

The Iowa River Greenbelt touches 5 communities directly; Alden, Iowa Falls, Steamboat Rock, Eldora, and Union.
Capture these five, as well as any of the other 25+ Cities, Townships, or Unincorporated within Hardin County, IA.
